Dr. Avishek Kumar is board-certified in medical oncology and hematology, serving patients with a wide range of cancers and blood disorders in Edison and the surrounding region. He completed hematology and oncology fellowship training at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and has particular interest in colon cancer and other gastrointestinal malignancies.
With additional fellowship training in geriatric medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kumar brings added perspective to treatment planning, especially for older adults and medically complex patients where overall health, function, and quality of life are essential to care decisions.
